At the New Livestock Market in Laknas village in Tirana region was organized today the activity with the theme: “For a contemporary organization of production in livestock farms, processing and sale of dairy fresh and organic products, and the consolidation of markets selling cattle in Albania “.
Pursuant to the decision of Tirana Regional Council and the Memorandum of Understanding between Tirana Municipality, Kamza Municipality, Vora Municipality and Tirana Regional Council, there was implemented this pilot project of the Albanian Agribusiness Council, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Management and Association of Albanian Regional Councils, with the support of CredinsBank and assistance provided by PAZA Project for livestock.
For the first time in Albania there will be applied veterinary procedures that will organize the welfare of farm livestock production, with fresh organic products in accordance with the highest European standards.
President of Tirana Regional Council also Chairman of Tirana Municipal Council Mr. AldrinDalipi said: “I think this is a very good model to be followed in response to a problematic situation, where food security remains one of the main challenges, a problem which directly affects the quality of life, where informality and smuggling overflows the market “.
Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Management, Mr. Edmond Panariti said: “Manufacturing, collection, processing and consumer market, are elements without which livestock production would be chaotic, it would be rested for the speculators and moreover, what it is most important, to constantly threaten consumer safety, as would go outside monitoring of the veterinary system supervision and the presence of residues.”
Minister Panariti emphasized that this will be the model that will soon be followed by all the municipalities to demonstrate how it will move forward.
Chairman of Albanian Agribusiness Council, Mr. AgimRrapaj estimated that this market provides a transparency in dealings purchaser salesman, “providing farmers and collectors a market to sell their products at a price determined by market rules, not the brokers, limiting the activity of selling animals without matriculation or provided through smuggling with neighboring countries and beyond. It promotes an efficient and modern investment model with closed cycle from fields in tables and ensuring the efficient RUDA system investment made by the private and the public sector for the production of fresh meat, but also for matriculation and traceability in the livestock sector”.
