On the International Day of Peace, President of Tirana Regional Council, Mr. Aldrin Dalipi, addressed the information session in the framework of the project: “Resolution 1325 – Women’s Rights, from the Concept to the Albanian Reality” that is being implemented by the Association of Women with Social Problems with financial support of the Fund for Gender Equality UN Women and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania.
President of Tirana Regional Council praised the commitment and work of Albanian institutions in coordination with international donor organizations and non-profit organizations in the country on gender issues.
He underlined that the achievements in the area of gender equality in decision-making processes in the country, should be followed by efforts that ensure their effects in all areas of life, to ensure and guarantee women’s rights and all possible opportunities for their development in Albania.
“The progress on gender issues will be faster, through the processes of awareness, gender action plans and monitoring mechanisms of their implementation and the common will of all parties”.
U.N Security Council Resolution 1325, aims to ensure women’s right, especially those in the field of peace and security, and implementation of National and International legislation in this regard.
The project “Resolution 1325 – Women’s rights, from the Concept to the Albanian Reality” is being implemented in Tirana Region and the Regions of Lezha, Shkodra, Kukes, Berat and Vlora.
