Cross-border development program between The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania will be implemented during the period 2014-2020 . It is a document based on a joint effort of strategic planning between the two countries and is the result of a large consultation process with local stakeholders and potential beneficiaries.
Chairman of the Region of Korca Mrs. Ana Verushi member of the Monitoring Committee for the IPA Cross – Border Programme The Former Republic of Macedonia – Albania 2014 -2020 , took part in the first meeting of the Committee which was held in Pogradec on 27 January 2016 .
The main objective of this meeting was to define the rules of this Monitor Joint Secretariat , the definition of thematic priorities , the adoption of a communication plan and work plan for 2016 .
It aims to promote a sustainable and balanced socio- economic development in the border area and promoting , development of human capital , promotion of employment and territorial cooperation .
Encouragement of tourism , cultural heritage and environmental protection were the main priorities of the Committee.
