Marine terraces of Dajt

Situated at the height 1000m above sea level , on the western slope of Dajti National Park , east of the capital . It represents a fragment of the marine terrace level formed millions of years ago ( helvecian ) , the activity of sea waves . It is about 2km long and 800m wide . The terrace is an area with meadows , whose surrounding beech forests . Its west front is very rugged . This terrace has scientific value teaching , ecological and tourist local character . To visit the monument taken a motorway 26 km Tirana – Linz – Dajt , or enjoying funicular Tirana – Dajt for about 15 min . It is declared as a natural .
